When the Builder is the right path
Auto-design works from your address alone — quick and accurate for most homes. The Builder fits better when you already know what you want, or when your setup is unusual.
Specific component choices
You want a particular battery capacity, EV-charger power, or to set the phase manually — without uploading an electricity bill.
Off-grid system
No grid connection. Auto-design assumes a grid-connected setup; the Builder lets you pick off-grid inverters and batteries directly.
